"The Singing Detective" TV Intro
Просмотров 27410 месяцев назад
In tribute to the great Irish-English actor Michael Gambon, who died this week at age 82, here’s the introduction to his six-episode, 1986 BBC-TV series, “The Singing Detective,” written by Dennis Potter. The Thrilling Detective Web site reminds us of that show’s plot: “Dennis Potter’s complex, sprawling, masterful, emotionally-charged multi-layered miniseries remains one of the most intelligen...
"My Friend Tony" TV Intro
Просмотров 463Год назад
This short-lived crime drama was broadcast in 1969, when I was a mere child, so I didn’t watch it during its original run, and I’ve only managed to see a couple of episodes since. It starred the terrific James Whitmore as John Woodruff, a professor of criminology who had served with the U.S. military in Italy during World War II. Italian actor Enzo Cerusico played the title character, Tony Nove...
"Leverage" TV Intro

Here’s a show I’ve rediscovered recently: “Leverage,” the 2008-2012 TNT-TV crime drama about a group of thieves-led by formerly successful insurance investigator Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton)-who “target the corrupt and powerful to avenge ordinary people who have no other recourse.” I had forgotten how much out-and-out fun this series is, with its elaborate con jobs and never-ending selections o...
"Bosch" TV Intro

This is the main title sequence from the 2014-2021 Amazon Prime TV series “Bosch,” starring Titus Welliver as Detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch, a character created by novelist Michael Connelly. After seven seasons, “Bosch” spun off the program “Bosch: Legacy,” which debuted in May 2022 on Amazon’s ad-supported Freevee streaming service. Several of the original “Bosch” cast members continued t...
"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" TV Intro

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this opening title sequence before now, but I haven’t. It comes, of course, from the 1984-1985 ITV/Granada Television series "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," starring Jeremy Brett as Holmes and David Burke as Dr. John H. Watson. As I understand it, ITV and Granada continued to adapt Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Holmes tales through 1994, but later series wer...

After seven seasons on Amazon Prime TV, the crime drama “Bosch” ended, and a new spin-off, “Bosch: Legacy,” debuted in May 2022 on Amazon’s ad-supported Freevee streaming service. Several of the previous show’s cast members appear in this new program, as well, notably Titus Welliver (who plays Los Angeles police detective-turned-private eye Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch), Madison Lintz (appearing as...

This is the Season 1 opening title sequence from “Miss Scarlet and the Duke,” a British-Irish historical mystery that debuted in the spring of 2020. Shown worldwide on the pay-TV channel Alibi, it stars Kate Phillips as Eliza Scarlet, a headstrong young woman who, following the sudden demise in 1882 of her cop-turned-private detective father, Henry Scarlet, determines to take over his London in...
"M Squad" TV Intro
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.Год назад
NBC-TV’s half-hour-long “M Squad” (1957-1960) was a hard-boiled, pulpy, distinctly noirish police drama with a jumpin’ jazz theme (courtesy of none other than Count Basie) that reflected the edgy dynamism of its setting: Chicago. Lee Marvin-in his only outing as a TV-series leading man-appeared as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger of the “M Squad,” a special Windy City police detail that hel...
"Orson Welles Great Mysteries" TV Intro and Ending

“Orson Welles Great Mysteries” was a short-lived British anthology TV series, originally broadcast from September 1973 through February 1974. Actor, director, and screenwriter Welles was the only regular performer on that half-hour-long ITV program. As the blog Silver Scenes explains, “The series was very similar to the classic 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' and, like Hitchcock, Orson Welles merel...
"Primus" TV Intro

Very much in the "Sea Hunt" mode, the 1971-1972 syndicated TV series "Primus" starred Robert Brown (formerly of "Here Come the Brides") as Carter Primus, “a deepwater troubleshooter called upon to solve a vast array of situations,” as the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) recalls. “He relied on a variety of devices, including a robot, a curmudgeonly friend Charlie and the lovely Toni [Hayden],” pl...

Back when Saturday nights had something to watch
Hmm, that theme song... maybe the show should have been named "START.WRECK." 😄 ...A series that started with a bang and ended sort of with a whimper.
Love Saturday night mystery
Very cool show
Although I've never seen or heard of the series there were a lot of these actors who later either came from other tv series or later have been to other shows.
Stunning 240p
Captain Kirk meets the Wild West.
Wish I could find a place to watch these
I still can't stop watching Columbo to this day.😊
This is English writer Sir Lesley Charteris' "The Saint" -- transplanted to Bev Hills, Palmtreeland. Anyhow, in the late 1970s and early 80s, I did chauffeuring in Bel Air, CA for a very nice elderly gentleman. In the garage, there was a Mark I Silver Cloud (1956), also a Mark III (1965). The '56 Could had air conditioningt but did not have servo steering.
Livin aaaaaanda da guun
The weapon that Ford has when he exits the car is not an M14 but a much smaller long gun, what appears to be an M1 carbine and if you look carefully, you can see the T4 barrel band/bayonet lug used on postwar carbines.
Best tv series currently out there. Immersive Gothic Victorian New York, super creepy with lots of twists. Sets/Costumes are fantastic. Acting is on point. Terrifying and creepy.
Qué música tan extraordinaria !!! Vienen recuerdos de un mundo en el que con pocos medios, se hacían temas musicales majestuosos, mágicos e inolvidables. . Muchas gracias 😊
This isn't the original theme music of the show. Why did they change the original theme music when it was so good? I hate it when shows change theme songs.
I'm in my mid 60s and almost EVERY TIME I pickup a flashlight since the 1970s, I whistle the first 10-15 notes of this song. Amazing.

my mom knew i had a massive crush on Lily, we've shared so many red wines together over this fine series. <3
Brilliant music and series
i wach this on nbc with my mom andy
Such a cool show. Nice sailboat, cool speedboat, a beat up yet awesome old Sikorsky helicopter, and a classic Corvette. Stories were typical Stephen J Cannell fare. Kind of a Magnum PI in LA instead of Hawaii.
I'm sorry, but this theme song slaps.
a pre True Lies, True Lies
0:07 ❤
Kedvemc sorozatom! 😂
I havent heard this in 35yrs. My Dad used to watch this everyday while eating dinner in his recliner. For some strange reason this show popped in my head so i looked up the intro. I remember this like it was yesterday!
The Sunday Mystery Movie theme brought me here.
Man I miss when T.V. shows had full orchestral theme songs that just go for almost two minutes. Now we're lucking if an intro song is actually a song and not just 10 seconds of sounds.
Era un bel telefilm
The Shadow Knows...
Loved this so much that I went on to learn to dive and became an instructor and still dive 54 years later.
I loved this tv show. I really missed the master tv shows, so much better than today shows!
At 0:42, the arrangement reveals just how beautiful it really is...
Chief?
COLD CASE. SUNDAY NIGHTS AT 8 PM ON WBZ TV 4 BOSTON. I LIKE TO FOLLOW THE CLUES LILY RUSH FINDS IN HER QUEST TO BRING CRIMINALS TO JUSTICE. Kenneth Huang. 7/31/24.
Wasn't it during this time of filming that James Earl Jones impregnated Cecilia Hart which led to their hurried marriage before their love child's birth?
Robert Conrad was perfect for Wild, Wild, West. He and Robert Wagner were the coolest TV stars.
This used to be bomb. The good old days.
I have always remembered this show. Just looked it up and realised how much I do miss it.
Sadly it wasnt promoted well and they blamed BC for not using his fame to promote it
Avec du son ce serait bien
The protagonist of the great film Duel 👍
I loved this show. Good clean TV. Not the filth they produce nowadays.
🦧🦧🦧🙈🙉🙊👎
This show was underrated.
who is that boy on 1:10??
It was pretty funny seeing Jim aim at the guy with the card and he just drops the card dejectedly.
Catered to the wrong target demographic and flatlined. Too bad
Acá ala Argentina 🇦🇷 nunca llego está serie
😢 so gone are those days.
