Another valuable Web resource from the good folks who bring you The Rap Sheet, this one focusing primarily on video introductions to crime-related TV shows and films.
“The Fugitive” TV Intro
"The Fugitive," a memorable American crime drama created by Roy Huggins and starring David Janssen, debuted on ABC-TV on September 17, 1963. That program about a physician accused of his wife's murder, and his subsequent struggle to track down the One-Armed Man he's convinced holds the answers to her slaying, eventually ran for 120 hour-long episodes over four years, becoming one of the most respected small-screen productions in history. Its final episode was broadcast on August 29, 1967. The video here combines a long version of its Season 1 opening with an abbreviated version. "The Singing Detective" TV Intro

In tribute to the great Irish-English actor Michael Gambon, who died this week at age 82, here’s the introduction to his six-episode, 1986 BBC-TV series, “The Singing Detective,” written by Dennis Potter. The Thrilling Detective Web site reminds us of that show’s plot: “Dennis Potter’s complex, sprawling, masterful, emotionally-charged multi-layered miniseries remains one of the most intelligen...
"My Friend Tony" TV Intro

This short-lived crime drama was broadcast in 1969, when I was a mere child, so I didn’t watch it during its original run, and I’ve only managed to see a couple of episodes since. It starred the terrific James Whitmore as John Woodruff, a professor of criminology who had served with the U.S. military in Italy during World War II. Italian actor Enzo Cerusico played the title character, Tony Nove...

Here’s a show I’ve rediscovered recently: “Leverage,” the 2008-2012 TNT-TV crime drama about a group of thieves-led by formerly successful insurance investigator Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton)-who “target the corrupt and powerful to avenge ordinary people who have no other recourse.” I had forgotten how much out-and-out fun this series is, with its elaborate con jobs and never-ending selections o...

This is the main title sequence from the 2014-2021 Amazon Prime TV series “Bosch,” starring Titus Welliver as Detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch, a character created by novelist Michael Connelly. After seven seasons, “Bosch” spun off the program “Bosch: Legacy,” which debuted in May 2022 on Amazon’s ad-supported Freevee streaming service. Several of the original “Bosch” cast members continued t...
"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" TV Intro

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this opening title sequence before now, but I haven’t. It comes, of course, from the 1984-1985 ITV/Granada Television series "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," starring Jeremy Brett as Holmes and David Burke as Dr. John H. Watson. As I understand it, ITV and Granada continued to adapt Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Holmes tales through 1994, but later series wer...

After seven seasons on Amazon Prime TV, the crime drama “Bosch” ended, and a new spin-off, “Bosch: Legacy,” debuted in May 2022 on Amazon’s ad-supported Freevee streaming service. Several of the previous show’s cast members appear in this new program, as well, notably Titus Welliver (who plays Los Angeles police detective-turned-private eye Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch), Madison Lintz (appearing as...

"M Squad" TV Intro

NBC-TV’s half-hour-long “M Squad” (1957-1960) was a hard-boiled, pulpy, distinctly noirish police drama with a jumpin’ jazz theme (courtesy of none other than Count Basie) that reflected the edgy dynamism of its setting: Chicago. Lee Marvin-in his only outing as a TV-series leading man-appeared as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger of the “M Squad,” a special Windy City police detail that hel...

“Orson Welles Great Mysteries” was a short-lived British anthology TV series, originally broadcast from September 1973 through February 1974. Actor, director, and screenwriter Welles was the only regular performer on that half-hour-long ITV program. As the blog Silver Scenes explains, “The series was very similar to the classic 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' and, like Hitchcock, Orson Welles merel...

"Charlie Cobb: Nice Night for a Hanging," 1977 TV Pilot Opening
I been looking for this show. In UK I lijed it
I remember watching this everyday with my brother and sister on BBC 2
“Hooperman” didn’t get good ratings, but it succeeded in reminding audiences that John Ritter was more than “Three’s Company”’s Jack Tripper.
Da 80s
Good show, which it lasted more than two seasons
Very 2000s. I can't wait for the crossover with Underworld.
thanks. I just read about this show I’d never even heard of when twitter referenced Angel Tompkins.
Wow 👏👏👏
I would love to see this show. I love Walter Hill and it inspired Shane Black as a screenwriter, part of the reason why Kim Basinger was cast in The Nice Guys too.
Great theme music!
This is a very special opening theme song for a television series.
I wish they would of kept the season 1 theme as the theme
I bought the 30 episode complete collection several years ago. Still enjoying this. Arron spelling brought the magic out with BEAUTIFUL ANNE FRANCIS. I love all these cool episodes.
I always loved how the woman is in a bikini and he's in a full sweater and pants.
That season one tune just doesn't quite hit the same way.
Robert Conrad was the ultimate action hero!
Before NBC went to hell
I don't remember the tune being in that key with the melody going so high
That show was so awful...
I remember thinking at the time that tv, music and culture had sort of reached its zenith, and that things would never be the same following this period. I believe that prophecy has come to fruition.
In Germany called "Ein Sheriff in New York". Love the show!
Best movie ever❤
This was how Magnum PI was originally supposed to be, but Tom Selleck hated it and refused to shoot it. He then urged the writers to make Magnum more relatable and down to earth. It worked and Magnum lasted eight years. Matt Houston didn’t.
Feminists today would consider the last scene misogyny... Thanks God Trump has returned!🤣😂🙂😉
Nick Mullen sent me
Lucy the Elephant.
Looks very 90's for being 2002
I guess this is why Jerome Coopersmith stopped writing for "Hawaii Five-O"...
Opie and Anthony brought me here
Dope intro bgm and song.
This is abysmal. Why on earth do Americans have to ruin great series like this?
Going into Stacy Keach's filmography I found such great old movies, like "The Execution's Song" that was Ancient to Me!!! Just Wow!!! Ya, there are a bunch of old Stacy Keach movies that bear repeating all over again!!! Sincerely, The Psychic Surgeon!!! Kelly He's A Good Old Hard Boiled Detective, going out daily, and getting the job done!!! Right On!!!
The intro alone makes the cancelation justified.
A lot of these 50's-60's TV shows had cool introductory theme music.
I miss the world and its people from back then. They were braver and much more free.
This is the one live action Joker that everyone forgets about.... because he's on screen for less than a second.
Wow, this is when TV was TV for real.
Some of the men walking on the street look like they have 1981 hairstyles when was the show aired?
What year was this show aired?
Pete had a wonderful voice.
I am looking for full episodes of this series. There isn't full episodes of this series uploaded on this site, or the archive website.
Mike Post - the king of television theme songs.
I miss this time.😢❤
Twin towers r.i.p 😢

Lo adoravo follemente... Rest In Peace Danny ❤️🙏
AT THE END OF THE END WE MUST TELL EACH OTHER THE TRUTH! I did not expect such an attitude from the Kingdom of Denmark. You had the audacity to call me not only a gypsy, but even a Turk. You are very weak-minded or shallow-minded. If a world-famous company such as Carlsberg opens a branch in my hometown of Blagoevgrad, the company and its management staff will be aware of many things in this city of Blagoevgrad. As an example, I can mention that there are no Turks in this city. The distance between the cities of Blagoevgrad and Shumen is 465.33 km (288.5 miles). I have not been to Shumen, but I am aware that there are many Turks among the residents of the city. And trying to break someone is not done this way. If in reality this beer production company was recognized on a global scale, without being subject to the boasting used in the advertising slogan - number one beer in the world?! I was in Germany for 6 months and as a comparison I can say that German beer is at least a thousand times better than Danish beer and the most interesting thing is that I drank 12 beers (0.5 l) a day, and I did not remember the name of a single beer brand because in principle there is no need to fill my head with the names of German beer producers, because it seemed to me that they were the same, and the difference was in the label, packaging and price. While I was in Bulgaria I was not a passionate fan of beer. I drank Tuborg beer but I was not impressed by the beer in terms of quality and comparison cannot be made with German beer and its taste qualities. The only inconvenience for a tourist visiting Germany without personal transport is the packaging of the beer itself, in terms of weight and the distance from the supermarket to the place where you are staying. I hear people here in Copenhagen, the Kingdom of Denmark, talking about me being strict about rules, and so I will tell you why, although I don't need to tell you, you had to guess for yourself. Rules are written and unwritten laws. I have succeeded in creating a PERPETUAL SOURCE OF ELECTRICITY, and as a comparison with the article regarding PERPETUUM MOBILE in Wikipedia, where it is said that it is impossible to create a PERPETUAL MOTOR. Creating something PERPETUAL is related to strict observance of natural laws. In nature, I am not familiar with facts of clearly expressed sexes of animal origin and of homosexual inclinations having or occurring. Therefore, the creator of the PERPETUAL SOURCE OF ELECTRICITY is subject to the natural laws that he observes. I have heterosexual tendencies, but since Russian Tsarist blood flows in my veins, enriched with blood from Denmark, Germany, Poland and Bulgaria, with no woman who has blood from the above listed in her veins, it is desirable that there be a boundary that must be strictly observed by me, so as not to lead to the appearance of disabled creatures like midgets. In other words, sometimes it is better to be complacent than to provoke the commission of a crime for which I am the main and main culprit (peaches are the same in smell and taste, but not in related structure). I DON'T NEED TO QUOTE THE NAMES OF THE ROYAL PERSONS WHO DO NOT OBEY THE LAWS OF NATURE, RIGHT?! Here I can mention my friend BARNEY, and tell him the following - "If you had given me a rubber toy resembling a COLT 45 caliber, I would not miss the luggage with the clothes stolen on September 16, 2023 (among which are the Hawaiian shirts purchased in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and the luggage with documents and computer equipment stolen on August 3, 2024! Not a single corrupt police officer, not a single thief would think of reaching out when this iron is in your bosom and has the ability to tear limbs and punch holes in the body, right BARNEY!". I have doubts regarding the Danish beer producer Carlsberg and the branches opened on the territory of Bulgaria in the city of Blagoevgrad and the city of Shumen. The doubts are caused by facts related not to the rates of beer in general and the relationship between the Kingdom of Denmark and Bulgaria being carried out on a different basis than beer, border crossings are crossed through which the use of a company brand can serve to transport illegal goods!!!
Memories of air saxophoning to this 😆
This show was almost too smart for tv. Both Eddie Albert & Robert Wagner were equally hot for the woman and a lot of men too. Great supporting characters but for some reason it couldn’t find an audience. Maybe, if Robert Wagner had taken his shirt off more it might have helped. Sometimes you have to pull out all the stops. LOL!!!! Good memories.
My dad loved this show. But when I was a kid, the opening theme was eerie to me...never forgot it. Alot of memories of times long ago, with family now gone.
